DSCC 2025
The DSCC is designed to equip students with the tools, skills, and connections needed for a successful transition beyond Tufts—whether into the workforce, graduate school, or other post-graduate opportunities. Through workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions, students will develop essential skills for career readiness, navigating the job search, and achieving professional and personal growth.
Attendees will hear from Tufts alumni and industry experts on topics such as networking, personal branding, financial literacy, and workplace advocacy. Whether you're actively job searching, preparing for graduate school, or exploring other next steps, this conference will provide valuable knowledge and connections to support your journey.
What to Wear to the DSCC Conference
This event is all about learning, connecting, and preparing for your journey after Tufts. We encourage you to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and authentic, while also keeping in mind that this is a professional setting. There’s no strict dress code—whether you prefer business casual, business professional, or something in between, the goal is to wear something that helps you feel put together and ready to engage with alumni, speakers, and peers.
General Guidelines for Dressing with Confidence
Wear What Feels Right for You – Pick an outfit that makes you feel comfortable and confident. No need to wear a full suit if that’s not your style—something polished but approachable works great.
Think About Comfort – You’ll be moving, sitting, and networking throughout the day, so choose clothing that fits well and lets you focus on the experience.
Choose Shoes You Can Walk In – Expect to be on your feet, so wear shoes that feel good throughout the day. Loafers, flats, dress shoes, ankle boots, or other closed-toe shoes are great choices—but if you prefer something different, go with what works for you.
Different Ways to Dress for the Conference
There’s no single "right" way to dress—here are a few ideas to help you find a style that works for you:
-
A mix of professional and relaxed, business casual is a great option for this event.
Tops – Button-down shirts, blouses, sweaters, or polos in solid colors or subtle patterns.
Bottoms – Khakis, dress pants, midi/knee-length skirts, or structured dark jeans (without rips).
Shoes – Loafers, flats, ankle boots, or other comfortable shoes.
-
If you like a more formal look, you’re welcome to go for business professional attire.
Suits – A blazer with trousers, a skirt, or a full suit in neutral or darker tones.
Shirts – A collared button-down shirt, a structured blouse, or a professional top.
Shoes – Polished dress shoes, loafers, oxfords, or low-heeled pumps.
-
For those looking for gender-inclusive options, consider these choices:
Tops – Button-down shirts, sweaters, blouses, or structured tops in neutral or muted colors.
Bottoms – Tailored pants, chinos, dress slacks, or knee-length skirts.
Shoes – Loafers, dress shoes, flats, ankle boots, or any footwear that feels professional and comfortable.
Accessories – Wear what makes you feel confident and reflects your personal style.
-
If you’re looking for affordable professional attire, check out these local thrift stores and resale shops:
Goodwill Store – 230 Elm St, Somerville, MA 02144
Buffalo Exchange – 238 Elm St, Somerville, MA 02144
Boomerangs – 563 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139
-
Plan Ahead – Try on your outfit beforehand to make sure you feel good in it.
Bring Layers – Conference rooms can vary in temperature, so a blazer, sweater, or jacket might come in handy.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you feel like yourself and ready to engage with confidence!
